1. General & Payment

All prices on the website are in Danish Kroner (DKK) and include Danish VAT (25%). We reserve the right to change prices and correct price errors at any time.

Copensense ApS accepts online payments with the following methods: VISA, Mastercard, and MobilePay. Payment will only be debited from your account when the item is shipped.

2. Delivery and Shipment

We strive to ship your in-stock order within 2-3 business days. Starting shipping costs for Danish orders are from 39 kr.

• Shipping in Denmark:

  • Free delivery to the nearest parcel shop for all orders over 499 kr.

  • For orders below this amount, the shipping cost will be calculated at checkout.

• Shipping to the EU:

  • We ship to most countries in the European Union.

  • Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout.

For custom-made orders, the delivery time will be agreed upon during our conversation. All custom orders in Denmark benefit from standard free delivery.

Risk of Loss: As required by Danish and EU law, the risk of loss for your order remains with Copensense ApS until the goods are physically delivered to you

3. Right of Withdrawal & Refunds

Consumers in the EU have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.

At Copensense ApS, we extend the return period to 30 days for standard products, which gives you more time to decide. The 30-day period begins when you receives the item.

Exceptions: Custom-made or personalized candles (e.g., specific color, scent, engraving, or design) are excluded from the right of withdrawal. Additionally, we cannot accept returns for candles that have been lit or used, as they are considered consumed products.

Refunds will be issued within 14 days from the day we are informed of your decision to withdraw. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have supplied documentation of having returned them, whichever is earlier.

4. Warranty & Complaints

There is a 2-year legal warranty on products in accordance with the Danish Sale of Goods Act (Købeloven). The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship that were present at the time of delivery.

• Complaints must be submitted within a reasonable time after discovery. A complaint submitted within 2 months will always be considered timely.

• If your complaint is justified and the item is defective, you must contact us at info@copensense.com to receive a prepaid shipping label before returning the product.

• The warranty does not cover defects caused by misuse, improper storage, or normal wear and tear. Your statutory rights under Danish law are not affected.

Before using your candle, please ensure you have read and understood the minimum safety instructions provided on the product label and in our terms of service Candle Safety section to ensure proper use and safety.

5. Candle Safety 

As a maker of handmade candles, we prioritize your safety. Our candles are crafted in accordance with EU safety regulations and standards, including EN 15493 (Fire Safety), EN 15426 (Sooting Behavior), and EN 15494 (Product Safety Labels).

Please follow these instructions carefully, as failure to do so may increase the risk of accidents.

Important Use Instructions:

• Always place the candle on a heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials.

• Never leave a burning candle unattended.

• Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.

• Trim the wick before each use to about 5 mm.

• Do not burn the candle for more than 3 hours at a time.

• Extinguish the candle when it burns down to 10 mm of wax remaining.

These instructions are provided to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience and are part of the product's intended use.

6. Privacy & Data Protection

Your personal information is collected and processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Danish data protection law. We only collect the information necessary to fulfill your order and provide our services. We do not sell or share your data with third parties except as necessary to process payments, deliver goods, or comply with legal obligations.

7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Danish law. Any disputes shall be settled by the Danish courts. For consumer transactions, this choice of law and jurisdiction does not affect your rights under the mandatory laws of the country where you reside.

8. Limitation of Liability

Copensense ApS is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from misuse, neglect, or failure to follow the provided safety instructions. Our products are provided for their intended use as candles, and we are not liable for any harm caused by failure to follow the provided safety instructions, including those on the product label and in the Candle Safety section of our Terms & Conditions. This is consistent with Danish law, which requires products to be safe when used for their intended purpose or under reasonably foreseeable conditions. The consumer bears responsibility for using the product correctly.
