Trimming the wick is the most crucial step for a clean, safe, and long-lasting experience. A long wick creates an unstable flame, which is the primary cause of smoke and soot. The very first burn sets the "memory" for the wax. To prevent tunneling, allow the candle to burn until the wax pool reaches the edges of the jar. This typically takes 2-4 hours. A tunneled candle is often caused by a wick that has been trimmed too short. While we test our candles extensively to ensure a consistent burn, a wick cut smaller than our recommended 5mm can cause this. If your candle begins to tunnel, simply let it burn for a few hours without trimming the wick again until the surface has evened out. Yes, absolutely! We designed our jars with a second life in mind as part of our commitment to sustainability. Once cleaned of leftover wax, the sturdy and stylish vessel can be repurposed as a small planter, a desk organizer, or a bathroom canister. Reusing the jar provides extra value and reduces waste.
Freeze, pop, wash. Place the jar in your freezer for a few hours. The cold causes the wax to shrink and harden, allowing it to pop out easily. After removing the wax, simply wash the jar with warm, soapy water, and it is ready to be given a second life.
