Our Craft & Brand

What makes your candles different from mass-produced ones?

Where mass production rushes, we pause. Each candle is hand-poured in small batches in our Danish studio, embracing the gentle imperfections that make every piece unique. We allow each candle time to cure, creating a deeper fragrance integration and a more authentic burn experience.

What types of candles do you offer?

We offer a carefully curated collection of both scented and unscented candles. Our scented candles create subtle, evolving aromas. Our unscented candles provide timeless, elegant glow. All are poured into handcrafted ceramic vessels with cotton or gently crackling wooden wicks.

Are your candles suitable for people with allergies or sensitivities?

Our rapeseed wax burns clean with minimal soot and is naturally free from phthalates. Personal sensitivities vary, so we recommend starting with our unscented candles for those with known sensitivities. Always ensure proper ventilation.

Our Ingredients & Sustainability

What wax do you use in your candles?

We choose only 100% Scandinavian rapeseed wax for our handmade candles. This is a premium, plant-based wax, sustainably sourced from crops grown here in Europe. It is a renewable and biodegradable resource that offers a beautifully clean, slow burn.

What are the benefits of rapeseed wax?

Rapeseed wax is a gentle choice for both your home and the planet. Sourced locally in Europe, it has a lower carbon footprint and provides a uniquely slow, clean burn. Its low-soot flame ensures a healthier indoor air quality, making it a mindful choice for your home and a cleaner indoor ritual.

Are your candles vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes, absolutely. Our natural candles are completely plant-based, and our fragrances are cruelty-free, and we ensure no product in our catalog is tested on animals. This commitment to kind and ethical craftsmanship is an essential part of our brand.

Do your candles contain paraffin or other synthetic additives?

No, our sustainable candles use only natural rapeseed wax, making our candles completely paraffin-free. We believe that choosing a petroleum-based byproduct like paraffin wax is a compromise on purity and a clean indoor climate. We also avoid any other synthetic additives, ensuring our candles are as pure as possible.

Do your candles contain fragrance oils?

Our scented candles are blended with fine fragrance oils developed by master perfumers and expertly crafted in Grasse, France. These fragrances are purpose-built for their safety, stability, and superior performance. They comply with rigorous European and French standards (CLP & IFRA), are Phthalate-free, and are not tested on animals. Our curated fragrance oils offer a consistent and long-lasting scent throw, and their creation reduces pressure on natural plant resources. We are continually researching how we can make our selection even more natural as a constant development.

What are your fragrances made of? Are they natural?

Our scents are born from a quiet collaboration between nature and design, created using fine fragrance oils expertly blended in Grasse, France. We choose them for their safety and superior performance over volatile alternatives. Each is Phthalate-free, cruelty-free, allowing for a pure, long-lasting aroma in your home.

Do you have any certifications?

As a young company, we are actively pursuing certifications that align with our commitment to quality and sustainability. We already meet many high standards, such as using 100% plant-based, cruelty-free, and locally sourced rapeseed wax. We will announce any new certifications as we receive them.

The Wick & The Burn

What types of wicks do you use?

Each candle is finished with carefully selected wicks. Our scented candles feature a pure cotton wick for a classic, silent flame. For our unscented candles, we use a natural wooden wick that provides a gentle, soothing crackling sound. Both are designed for a clean, even burn.

What’s the difference between cotton and wood wicks?

The choice of wick defines the ambiance. Cotton wicks provide a traditional, serene experience. In contrast, natural wood wicks offer a multisensory experience with a gentle crackling sound, like a miniature fireplace, transforming your space into a cozy sanctuary.

Why is wick trimming so important?

Trimming the wick is the most crucial step for a clean, safe, and long-lasting experience. A long wick creates an unstable flame, which is the primary cause of smoke and soot. By trimming the wick to about 5mm before every burn, you ensure a stable, clean flame. For more detailed instructions, please refer to our Candle Care Guide.

How do I burn a candle properly for the first time?

The very first burn sets the "memory" for the wax. To prevent tunneling, allow the candle to burn until the wax pool reaches the edges of the jar. This typically takes 2-4 hours. This one crucial step ensures a clean, even burn for the entire life of your candle. For more detailed instructions, please refer to our Candle Care Guide.

How long should I burn a candle at a time?

For the best results and for safety, we recommend burning your candle for no more than 3-4 hours at a time. This ritual helps prevent the vessel from overheating and ensures your candle performs beautifully from start to finish. For more detailed instructions, please refer to our Candle Care Guide.

How do I fix a candle that is "tunneling"?

A tunneled candle is often caused by a wick that has been trimmed too short. While we test our candles extensively to ensure a consistent burn, a wick cut smaller than our recommended 5mm can cause this. If your candle begins to tunnel, simply let it burn for a few hours without trimming the wick again until the surface has evened out. For more detailed instructions, please refer to our Candle Care Guide.

Why is my candle producing smoke or soot?

Our candles are virtually soot-free when burned correctly. If you see smoke, simply extinguish the flame, trim the wick to about 5mm, and relight it to enjoy a stable, clean flame.

The Vessel & Its Second Life

What are your candle jars made of?

Our jars are a central part of the experience, designed as beautiful objects in their own right. Each is individually handcrafted in our studio, embodying Scandinavian design principles, from a proprietary, eco-friendly mineral composite material. This gives every jar a unique, stone-like texture that is both minimalist and tactile, ensuring it is a lasting piece of Scandinavian design for your home.

Are your jars reusable or recyclable?

Yes, absolutely! We designed our jars with a second life in mind as part of our commitment to sustainability. Once cleaned of leftover wax, the sturdy and stylish vessel can be repurposed as a small planter, a desk organizer, or a bathroom canister. Reusing the jar provides extra value and reduces waste.

How do I clean out leftover wax from a jar?

Freeze, pop, wash. Place the jar in your freezer for a few hours. The cold causes the wax to shrink and harden, allowing it to pop out easily. After removing the wax, simply wash the jar with warm, soapy water, and it is ready to be given a second life.
